Description
The program's objective is to search for and implement new and innovative solutions to manage and address malicious attacks on digital systems used by local governments, in line with the European cybersecurity strategy and guidelines.
Goals
A system for cybersecurity situational awareness that will help combat and prevent cyber-attacks.
• Relevant information is required to be shared with the relevant bodies, eg:
o CERTs (National / European)
o Units / Departments for Combating Electronic Crime
• The Need for CS Aware - Why?
o The European Network and Information Security Directive (NIS) obliges member states to align themselves with European cyber security efforts.
o European cyber security strategy
o Decentralized prevention and response to cyber-security incidents and attacks.
• Who will help
o Cyber-defense requires resources (human and financial) that their large organizations have.
• Those who usually have a shortage are:
o Small and medium-sized SME
o Local Authorities (Local Authorities)
