The Observatory of Larissa is an Organization of the Municipality of Larissa and is managed by an 11-member Board with the City Councilor Mr. Christos Terzoudis as Chairman and the Astronomer Researcher Mr. Nick Stoikidis as Director. It is located at the area of Giannouli, 5 km northwest of the city of Larissa.

The Observatory of Larissa participates substantially in international astronomic research programs related to the Sun, Lunar Occultation and Stellar Photoelectric Photometry (PEP). We also participate in the field of geophysics with relevant program. Finally, the Observatory of Larissa holds an educational character by contributing to the wider area of Thessaly.
